Is my conversation actually private?
Yes. We don't record audio. We don't store transcripts. We don't see the contents of your context fields. Our voice provider runs under a zero-data-retention contract, so they don't keep your conversations either. The Privacy Policy explains it in detail.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup, no email, no password. Your device gets an anonymous identifier the first time it launches the app, and that identifier is never linked to you.
What's the trial?
One full session — the conversation and the critique — free, the first time you launch the app. After that, the app costs $9.99 once. No subscription.
Will it work for the specific conversation I'm about to have?
It is designed for workplace conversations: performance, compensation, termination, conflict, boundaries, cross-functional disagreement, leadership decisions. It is not a substitute for professional advice in legal, medical, psychological, or financial matters.
Can I change the voice?
Yes. You can choose between four voices in the app's setup screen, before each rehearsal.
Why isn't there an Android version?
Voice quality and latency on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS were where we could ship the experience we wanted first. Other platforms are possible later. No promises.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. From a Mac or iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History, and request a refund there.
I have a problem the FAQ doesn't cover.
Email support@difficultdiscussions.app and we'll get back to you.
